The Guest House melds Mediterranean style with old California grandeur. Built as a private guesthouse for their friends, your hosts created an intimate retreat. Artfully crafted timbers, rustic plasterwork graced with fine custom woodwork and stone creates an airy Great Room filled with antiques, fine linens and stained glass.

The bathroom features a spacious open dual shower crafted of stone and marble. A four thousand gallon European wine barrel originally shipped to San Francisco in the early 1900's by a Napa winery provides a touch of whimsy as it nestles the period theme commode and pedestal sink.

A convenient 40 minutes from San Francisco, 35 minutes from the legendary wine counties of Sonoma and Napa Valley, and 40 minutes from the rugged Marin Headlands and Pt. Reyes National Seashore Park, The Guest House is perfectly situated to "see it all."

Delightful trails are but a short drive, perfect for a casual stroll, picnic or a hike. Marin County's small towns are a delight to explore, replete with some of California's finest restaurants and most talented chefs, craft collectives and antique shopping.

You may wish to stay "home" and read your favorite book in the window seat or quietly lunch by the pool. If you choose, you may simply take a blanket to the vineyard and snooze under the vines of 100-year-old Zinfandel grapes. During the winter a cozy fire entices you to curl up and enjoy a glass of wine. This secluded compound provides the perfect setting to relax and unwind.

Your hosts, Brian and Colleen Heslip, are keen gardeners, fine amateur chefs and food lovers, who are attuned to the region's rich bounty of gastronomic delights. They can recommend fine restaurants and unique dining experiences from Napa to San Francisco. You may also wish to arrange a tour of the winery. The limited production of Heslip Family Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and their trademark Sangiovese are the result of twenty-five years of wine making for family and friends.
